Firenze Film Festival is an annual event dedicated to independent cinema, held at the beautiful, historical venue of Odeon Firenze that has 559 seats. We are excited to welcome filmmakers from all over the world to this celebration of international independent cinema.

Our mission is to create an event where people can watch rarely screened indie films, and meet like-minded inspiring people from the film industry.

Special Judges

We are proud to announce that this year a team of special judges has joined the festival, to choose the winners of selected categories!

Tessa Bell

Tessa Bell began her career at CBS Sixty Minutes and the CBS Evening News. She created the FYI Column for Premiere Magazine, and for 20 many years was the President of Infinity Films & Video Inc. Since moving to LA in 2008, Tessa has produced three WIF International Short Film Festivals, Bipolar, a feature film by Jean Veber, This Is the Story of Ted and Alice, a Cannes Film Festival short film starring Melissa Leo and the multiple award-winning family drama Life Inside Out, directed by Jill D’Agnenica as well as countless PSA’s for the WIF PSA Production Program.

She is currently in pre-production on a feature film fairy tale for adults set in an old growth forest and a comedy series set in a dinner theater. Her screenplay “The Legend,” based on the myth of the first female Pope, has recently won three awards for Best Screenplay, including Best Screenplay at the Firenze Film Festival. Tessa is a founding member of Green Light Women whose mission is to champion professional women and promote diverse perspectives in media.

Valentina Castellani

Valentina Castellani was born in Florence, Italy, where her family owned since the 1800’s an Opera House Theatre, the “Teatro Verdi”.
In 2012, Valentina Castellani created the production and post production company Quinn Studios, in memory of Francesco Quinn, her husband and son of Oscar winning actor Anthony Quinn, deceased on August 2011. In 2018 Valentina Castellani is one of the executive producer of The Award Winning Film Documentary ”Wonderful Losers”, 2019 Academy Awards Candidate Best Foreign Film and winners of 11 International Awards.

Valentina is the General Director International relationships of the Terra Di Siena International Film Festival and currently collaborates with many Film Festivals around the world. In 2019 Valentina Castellani expanded her Production Studio and created Quinn Studios Entertainment and is now producing a film about native Americans and alternative energies to oil, “The White Snake”.

April Macie

April, born and raised in Easton, Pennsylvania, is an American comedian, television personality, writer, and actress. She was a finalist on NBC's Last Comic Standing in 2006, has appeared on E! Entertainment, Fuel TV, HSN, Sirius and XM Radio, Bob & Tom, Access Hollywood, The Todd and Tyler Radio Empire, and was labeled an "emerging talent to watch" by The Hollywood Reporter at the Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in 2005. Macie is a regular guest on the Howard Stern Show, where in 2008 she was voted the "Funniest and Hottest" comedian in America.

April has appeared on Showtime’s I Am Comic, Vegas Is My Oyster, Snoop Dogg’s: Bad Girls of Comedy, and was the host of the AVN Awards. April has also appeared on Comedy Underground with Dave Attell, on Comedy Central, and Jenny McCarthy’s Dirty Sexy Funny on A&E. She also gave a TEDx talk on turning pain into humor. Currently, April travels internationally as a headlining stand-up comedian.
